NOTE: When a new associate joins the Market Center, the default anniversary date is the first day of the next full month. For example, an associate joining on May 15th will have a June 1st anniversary date. This is done to give the agent the remainder of their initial month to learn the systems and transition all real estate services.
It is assumed that the associate will not close a transaction in this initial partial month. If he or she does close a transaction, you will receive a special popup informing you of two options:
- You can edit the associate’s anniversary date to start at the beginning of the current month—in this case May 1st. This transaction will count toward the cap. If you do not complete this before transmitting, a password will be required to change the date.
- You can cancel, and leave the anniversary date as June 1st. On June 1st the associate’s cap will reset, meaning this initial transaction will effectively NOT count toward the cap.
In most cases, Option 1 is preferable for the agent and Market Center. That said, he or she can make that decision, with your guidance.
