Creating Accounts in AccountEdge
- Open AccountEdge and click Accounts and then Account List to see the chart of accounts.
- Click New to create the new account.
- Select the account type, enter the new account number - be sure to refer to the Chart of Accounts (U.S. and Canada) to ensure you are using a KWRI-approved account; using an account not on this list will result in an Out of Balance error and will prevent transmittal.
- Hit tab and enter the account label into Account Name.
- Click OK
Moving Accounts in AccountEdge
- Open AccountEdge and click Accounts and then Account List to see the chart of accounts.
- Double Click on the account you need to move to open the edit window.
- Change the account number to the account where you wish to move this account.
- Click OK (This only works for moving an account to one that is not already in use. If you wish to move all the transactions to an existing account, follow the steps below for combining accounts)
Combining Accounts
If you need to combine accounts to free up an account number, follow these steps:
- Click List, then Accounts.
- Find the account that you want to move the transactions to.
- Single Click to highlight it and click Combine Accounts.
- Under secondary, enter the account number you need to move the data from. (Under primary, you should see the account you chose to move the data to.)
- Click Combine Accounts. Click OK on the next message screen.
