MCA Technology Requirements (WinMORE and NetMORE)

The following hardware and software are the minimum technical and network requirements to run the Keller Williams accounting and profit share software: WinMORE, AccountEdge, or LoneWolf (Canada), and all your everyday word processor and spreadsheet applications. 

These requirements are address in the KWRI Franchise Agreement between your OP and KWRI; contact your OP to obtain a copy of these contract terms and requirements.

Minimum Computer Requirements - MCA Computer:

Other than the requirement that the computer be 64 bit, any computer meeting the minimum specs for Windows 10 Pro will be compatible with WinMORE and AccountEdge.

DO NOT UPGRADE TO WINDOWS 11 AT THIS TIME!

• 64 bit system (AccountEdge will not run on 32 bit any longer)
• Dual Monitors
• Printer should be capable of printing to letter and legal size paper (multi trays recommended)
• PDF Writer recommended (Note:  Microsoft Print to PDF will not pick up the report name as the file name for WinMORE.  Adobe PDF, CutePDF and PrimoPDF will all defaut the report name to the file name.  
• Backup UPS "Uninterruptible Power Supply"
• Wired LAN Connection 
• Operating System: Windows 10 Professional
  • “Home” or “Student” Versions of any Windows Operating Systems are NOT SUPPORTED
  • MAC computers are not supported for MCA systems, including MACs running Windows.  It must we a Windows based PC.  
• Antivirus software - See PC Magazines list of top 10 recommended software.
  • Windows Defender is NOT recommended.
  • An exclusion to not scan the WinMORE3 folder is recommended​
• Multiple forms of backup (onsite and offsite) - Real Time backups are not compatible with WinMORE. Backups should happen nightly when WinMORE is not in use.

• Microsoft Server Software (any version currently within Microsoft Support) REQUIRED
  • Computers "acting" like a server running Windows 10 are NOT compatible.
  • Any computer meeting the minimum specs for this software will be compatible with WinMORE
• Dual Hard Drives (recommended)
• Backup UPS "Uninterruptible Power Supply" - the server and the switches should be on this backup.  In the event of a power outage this will allow you to shut WinMORE down correctly to avoid data issues that could result from sudden power loss
• Wired LAN Connection
• Antivirus software - See PC Magazines list of top 10 recommended software. 
  • Windows Defender is NOT recommended.
  • An exclusion to not scan the WinMORE3 folder is recommended. 
    
• Multiple forms of backup (onsite and offsite) - Real Time backups are not compatible with WinMORE. Backups should happen nightly when WinMORE is not in use.

The multi-user option for WinMORE requires that the host computer for WinMORE MUST be a computer running Microsoft Server software (any version 2008 or higher).  Sharing a folder across the network from a Windows XP, Win7, Win8, Win10 or any other non-server software (Peer-to-peer aka VPN) is not a supported network configuration for multi-user WinMORE.

*** Due to security reasons, desktops running WinMORE must be hardwired to the network; NO laptops are allowed for the MCA computer.  No wireless connections.  No cloud-based servers.***

Data Storage: 
KWRI recommends 3 Redundant backups methods. These include USB drives, online services, and offsite backup systems. Please see the approved vendor list on KW Connect for an approved online backup vendor. 

To prevent WinMORE from losing access/permissions to read/write to its files on the server, please schedule all backups to run only during non-business hours.

Additional Recommendations:

As our personal and professional world has rapidly moved into an increasingly digital one, in order to participate in KWRI, regional, and local events, training, meetings, and general communication, we strongly recommend that all staff computers - but especially the MCA computer - be equipped with

• working speakers
• working webcam
• working microphone

In addition, as the MCA computer is only local machine specifically addressed in the KWRI Franchise Agreement, it is common-place for the MCA computer to always be the newest and highest functioning computer among the staff.
