Expansion networks are tracked within KW Reporting and other systems by grouping teams from multiple market centers together.
The MCA of each market center must create a team and add any team members from that Market Center to the team. A team needs to be set up even if there is only one individual on the Expansion Team since we group by teams.
New Expansion Network setup:
In order to establish a new Expansion Team, the team must have an approved Expansion Business Application. The application is located at KW Connect > Growth > Expansion.
The MCA of the HUB market center submits a request to email@example.com for new expansion teams to be created. The request must include the following:
- Expansion Agent/Owner Name and MORE ID
- Expansion Network Name (if different from expansion team name)
- Expansion HUB Team Name as recorded in the Team Tool
- Team ID in the Team Tool
- Expansion Network Start Date
- Completed Expansion Business Application
Once all items have been received the request will be submitted internally to activate the team for reporting purposes.
Adding a new Expansion Team to an Existing Expansion Network:
In order to add an expansion team to an existing expansion network, the team must have an approved HOST Market Center Operating Agreement. The agreement is located at KW Connect > Growth > Expansion.
The MCA of the Expansion Team Market Centers must create the team in their market center team tool and then submit a request to Expansion@kw.com to add that team to the Expansion Network. The request must include the following:
- Expansion Network Name
- Team ID in the Team Tool (KWRI MUST have this to map the team)
- Expansion Team Name as recorded in the Team Tool
- Expansion Team Start Date (date the team joined the expansion)
- HOST Market Center Operating Agreement
Please CONFIRM the Expansion Team Start Date and the date may be back-dated. To ensure all production is properly allocated to the Expansion Team please double check this date with the Team.
Once we have this request, it will be submitted internally to add the team for reporting purposes.
Expansion Agent (Owner): The Expansion Agent owns the business. He or she is the businessperson with the vision to create a real estate empire across multiple Market Centers. An Expansion Agent has a sales team in at least one additional Market Center.
Expansion Partner: The Expansion Partner is the agent who runs the local expansion team. The Expansion Partner may or may not have an ownership interest; the optimal compensation model is selected by the Expansion Agent.
Expansion HUB: The Expansion Hub is the administrative center of the expansion empire. The HUB, usually located at the Expansion Agent's first Market Center, performs administrative, marketing, and transaction coordination that services multiple sales teams.
Expansion Network Name: The Expansion Network name is the name of the overarching Expansion group which may be the same or different from the name of the expansion team. For example, “The Expansion Group” is the Network name and the Expansion Team is named “The Gordon Team with The Expansion Group”.
Expansion Team: The Expansion Team is the local sales team, generally consisting of at least a listing assistance and buyer agent that the Expansion Agent sets up in an additional Market Center. The focus is solely on lead generation and sales.
