Q. One of my lead agents would like to pay her administrator, who has an active real estate license but doesn't use it, a bonus because she worked especially hard on a particular deal. However, she doesn't want her administrator to pay the company dollar or royalty on it. How should I process this bonus?
A. If the administrator used her real estate license to actively sell this property based on your state's commission definitions of licensed activities, you are required to book it in WinMORE and royalty must be paid. The company dollar is up to the Market Center.
If the administrator is unlicensed and is working purely as an administrative staff member of the team and does not actively sell real estate, the rainmaker of the team should be paying the administrator as an employee, not as commission on a DA. The bonus may also be paid this way.
